Well, anon? You've read this book, agreed with the authors' statements, and applied the ideas, right? You do make sure to understand the critical terms of a work of non-fiction before dismissing an argument, right? And you write a neat summary of the book to consolidate your learning, yes? Finished the trivium yet? Feel like you're ready to start you intellectual journey? You wouldn't be on this board otherwise, right?

Now why would I read a book on how to read a book if I don't know how to read a book in the first place?

I'm unironically reading a textbook on logic because of the trivium right now. It's mostly material i've learned in HS that i had totally forgotten by now. It feels kinda pointless and as if i already know this stuff intuitively but i'm willing to dedicate the rest of this year on nothing but the the trivium. I'll make a post at the end of the journey if it was a waste of time or not.

Trivium sucks and this book sucks
Heres how to read a book:
>Learn about the author and time period a bit
>Take notes if you feel like it helps you remember interesting parts or thoughts you had on the book

Yes and yes.

Great book, was a decent economic thinker as well. :3
