Philosophically speaking, what is an valid argument for saving humankind? Has any critic of the climate policy ever brought up an argument why we should save ourself? It seems so dangerously self-evident for the most people

It's the other way around. People should have to present arguments as to why we should destroy the human race. By default humans think that it is necessary to keep the human race alive.

The reason it's gotten as bad as it has is because of the banking revolution that the dutch started in the 17th century. Essentially banks lend 7x their capital in the hopes that it will grow. This is how Europe conquered the world. And it has worked in a way. It's why things have grown so fast. The problem is that it's a snowballing effect. The elite are terrified of this system failing not only for greeds sake. This is why there has been no global policy for population control and why they never bring it up as a problem and red herring renewable resources and energy. Because the last time the system failed it caused WWII and authoritarianism to rise from the ashes.

I have a solution, however. We should engineer a virus that sterilizes people and sell the vaccine at exorbitant prices so that nobody has to die and only the rich and educated population procreates. This still doesn't solve the economic crash and problem of authoritarianism, but it saves the earth and ensures a future of only smart and educated people continuing humanity.

We should preserve the human race until we can achieve the Singularity, become gods, fuck the laws of physics in the ass and explore the cosmos

It will never happen. All we are going to do next is go internally into digital worlds. We will never conquer space. It is far easier to simply make our own space and plug into it.

I agree, and I think that humans were never meant to inhabit earth in the first place. We were an aberration from the beginning, as soon as we became homo sapiens. Ancient aliens theory may be real and that would explain it.
