Fucking tired of threads getting told they're not /lit/ related when they talk strictly about philosophy. Also tired of getting banned for this reason.
And don't give me any of that /his/ shit, it's even worse over there. Replaces all the fictioners with history pseuds. Just give us our own place.

My advice is to post less about the concept in and of itself, and rather post what is tangible and relevant to the board: form. Cite the actual book and language of the author, and we can go from there. The creation of a philosophy board would be a waste of time and neuter discussion elsewhere. Philosophy obviously occurs in many different mediums. How is its presentation in literature important? Let this influence your posts and threads.

I literally suggested this the other day and got a lot of positive support before being exiled to /qa/. I even joined the IRC chat to talk to mods about the idea but it's not clear who exactly one would talk to to get the idea taken seriously, so I rage quit.

If you make the OP about a book/philosopher then extrapolate on their philosophy you avoid a ban in my experience. It's not so bad here. But maybe if we get enough support the mods will take the suggestion seriously.

Enjoy your inevitable /qa/ exile.

That's why his started. People wanted to get the guys who read classical philosophers and Greek and who quote from Nietzsche and Pareto with ease to go there with all the stoner philosophers who found one line in Zarathustra or the Bible which they think proves they've solved philosophy because they read about this on pol before. They tried to get the history thread from here to go with them too, which consisted of bibliographies for your chosen period or civilization for you to read and explainers of obscure battles which shaped later policies or scans and pictures of rare artefacts and documents, probably under the delusion that the most academically rigorous and book filled general would want to migrate from books to hold back the tide of /pol/.
The people who wanted them to leave to this new board figured that all the people who read fiction were from a different equally well read set. Turns out all the people who read Ancient Greek for academic purposes are the people who read the degenerate novels the board prides itself on and the people who want them to leave are more butthurt that people who read books occupy the lit board. Pity they had to kill off the his general from the board in the process.

>> No.13414886

Logical empiricism/positivism is definitely doing several things wrong. Metaphysics is super important, I agree. The value of Carnap's Aufbau (in my view) is that he wants to start with an ontological base of some sort (elementary experiences in his case) and try to construct the rest of the world out of that, and I find that appealing, and I think other metaphysicians exist who do too. The problem lies in the fact logical positivists are too deflationist about some things metaphysicians take more seriously.

I entirely agree. I'm basing mine on a dualism that seems inherent in everything but I want to work on a logic that can bear it out. Eventually I want to develop a rational maths from this that gets rid of numbers in the way they are (pluralist representations), but I'm still learning logic rn and getting into analytic philosophy
