>writing a slice-of-life novel about a book club
>characters pick (and eventually discuss) their favorite books as a type of character exposition
>leader of the club picks a book, they go through it, discuss it, next character gets a turn, etc.
>a lot of drama due to such different tastes in genres of writing, "let's read my favorite book next so you can understand me better and you can help me with my personal problems, I don't care about yours"
>these books they discuss are also foreshadowing the novel itself (different presentations of the same motifs)
>considering writing the 5 total books characters discuss after finishing this one
>each of these 5 books would be stand-alone, but certainly help contextualize the different interpretations between members in the one I'm working on now
>procrastinating the fuck out of the first one because "what if my idea is retarded and no one gives a fuck"

You should do a comic with this format anon. Sounds comfy, just try to not be a pseud. If you're gonna name drop authors, be sure to say something about them too.

They would discuss books that don't exist irl, such as "With A Cool Autumn's Breeze" (title I just made up this moment and quick google search pulled nothing). I would then write With A Cool Autumn's Breeze and the other 4 as its own book after finishing this one. It feels pseud af due to "muh we gotta go deeper to be more sophisticated", even if that was never my intention. I just want to talk about how many people get the same point across using different genres or different phrases.

Sounds cool, but people would just think that the main novel is just an excuse or marketing tactic to make you read the other ones, or a lazy excuse to relate 5 different novels that are completely different.
