Am I a pseud if I picture the books I'm reading like a movie in my head? I see it all visually in my mind. Am I too unintelligent for books? Does this mean I need to stick to movies and tv?

I wanted to be a writer but now I'm too worried I might too much of a brainlet

But if a mind is visually oriented is it not folly to pursue the subtle art of literature?

No bro theres more to comprehend than imagery, its ideas and the connections between the images a book paints and how they might relate toideas. Keep at it and learn sum

This is literally what reading is.

Kant himself identified visualization as the key to synthetic a priori knowledge. Relax.

I think the anxiety comes from originally being a film nut. I worry that if I'm simply visualizing everything in my head like a movie, I'm hobbling myself.

Movies tend to be better than books at fast dynamic action and the visual aspect is obviously a big part of that. I worry if I'm reading an action or sci fi novel that by visualizing it I'm just falling back on kino and missing the point

I don't want to be a pseud

You’re not a pseud for visualizing literature that’s literally the point of it.

You’re an absolute pseud for carin this much and thinking it will make you look like a pseud. Like literally you real of fake intellectualism but not for any of the reasons you think.

Pretty much this.
If you base your consumption and digestion of literature based on how pesud they are, or how pseud you are for reading them, you're already a pseud.

It will get better as you keep reading and detach yourself from tv. After some years it will look like a very beautiful, masterfully edited anime, with images overlapping each others and meaningful particulars inflating and radiating a blinding amount of light.
