Thanks for the recommendation, I'll be sure to check it out. My mother read NAB to me as a child, then I read KJV after Confirmation (a gift), then NIV in the army. Now I'm older and NRSV is my preference. If I have to quote from a free online bible, it will typically be from ESV. They're all good.

You are so critical of the idea based on an obscure principle (that taking pictures of books is like being a tranny and the patently false presumption that anyone spends more time taking a photo, even if they spend 15 minutes arranging it, than reading. You imply that books aren't worth talking about but you are on /lit/. I have never posted anything to one of these threads, but they have some value. Your 'principled' disgust for 'trannys' blinds you to the actual thing people can get out of this. It's not the best way to spend your time but it does offer a look into another human being in some small way by showing what they have read or how they want to appear. That's interesting. Anyway you are on 4chan so nothing here is actually a good use of time anyway.

>> No.13338011

>>13337896
Nobody said books aren't worth talking about, but that's not what's going on here. Any time spent taking pictures of books is wasted because all you're doing is ogling at covers. You're dealing with anonymous people so it's not like going to somebodies house and having a look at their shelf, so what is the use of looking at them? You're not learning anything meaningful about people.

I do find trannies disgusting but that's not what I said when I originally brought them up, and it doesn't surprise me that somebody like you would have so much trouble understanding a simple analogy. You should spend more time read and less looking at book covers and that might not be such a problem. Now because trannies are ugly, they spend a disproportionate amount of time doing their makeup and getting the angles just right to make them look as much like a girl as possible. I was comparing that behavior with the way people in these threads act. They'll pick out their best looking books, rearrange their shelf, and get the right lighting just to take a picture that goofy bastards like you can look at and compliment, to feed their ego. I can sniff out posers.

I don't care if you waste your time. I waste my time too, but if you're going to waste your time doing this then I'm going to make fun of you because I think it's sad.

I know, I was upset about it too. You would think the publishers would make them all the same size but they made the red one bigger. I even emailed them asking if I got a misprint or one that wasnt cut to size since it had large margins. Nope, they made it that way on purpose. So I didnt even bother with the middle book.
