If anyone here doubted that the entire silicon valley corpus is composed of saurian blood-drinking onions-eating baby fuckers, Amazon deleted a review on this book I was going to post. In fact, Amazon has deleted every bad review on this book.

Is the publishing business really this atrocious? When did it get this bad? Was it this bad 20 years ago? (asking for my millennial friend)

>Is the publishing business really this atrocious?
Obviously. That's why some universities have their own publishers.

Does it bother you when people ask where stuff is and then when you tell them, instead of being like "OK thanks dude" they just cut eye contact with you and walk away as if you were just a robotic terminal whose only purpose is to be useful to them and then be discarded

A bit, I guess, but eh, whatever gets people off my back the fastest. My job involves walking from place to place in the store to pick up items for delivery so because of the fast-paced nature of it I don't feel too bad about it. I get a "Thanks" in one form or another most of the time anyway.
