Chomsky is evidence that far left opinions aren't edgy. He's been working for MIT for decades and his position has never been threatened.

She is a woman, somewhat attractive, who flirts with me nonstop. Last night she referred to us as ‘us’ and continually desires to respond to me and for me to respond to her. She wants to know my address, and if she’s been paying attention she knows my street and my number. ;3

But that’s all she knows

Of course, his clarity means that he can't weasel his way out of objections to his ideology, and he has been justly criticized for a lot of the beliefs he holds. But at the very least he opens himself up to the falsifiable realm and has the courage to engage with critics
