So, /lit/...

I'm not so much an inspired person as i am into writing and etc.

Perhaps it's life experience that's important?

As you can tell, i'm implying that i haven't had much life experience. I'm 17. My life has been quite the boring one...

I haven't gone alot of places. I've had my heart cracked, but not broken. I haven't lost anyone i've cared about. I haven't broken a bone... anything.

Is life experience really that important?

Write about boringness or writer's block maybe?

Even if you haven't had the experiences, you should still have particular ideas you want to pursue in writing - perhaps religious ideas, loneliness, dreams you've had, whatever (I'm just throwing these ideas out there).

Pic vaguely related - it's a movie the Coen Brothers wrote while they were suffering from writer's block - and that's what it's largely about.

That's like asking if learning is helpful. What do you think?

Can virgins write porn? Can deaf people write music? Can humans write about aliens or elves?

C'mon kid, use your brain. Every great writer started out producing literary diarrhea before they were acknowledged as great and many of them didn't live the lives they wrote about before writing it into a story.

Just write. If you don't know something, learn about how it works and apply it to your writing.
