I wasn't sure whether to put this in /lit/ or /mu/. But I doubt that most of /mu/ has read this, or would recommend any music that isn't whatever hipster trash they listen to. So here I am!

I'm coming up with a soundtrack for the Great Gatsby. I've gotten a couple of 1920s Jazz pieces, but I wasn't really sure what would classify as "Gatsby" music. It'd also be nice to hear what anon thinks would be suitable today for this amazing book.

Doesn't really have to be what Mr. Gatsby would listen to. Any characters can listen as well. Maybe even choose music based on location/social class/whatever you want.

for real, though, /lit/-/mu/ poster here, the best album you could use as a soundtrack to Gatsby is this boxset - http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Fives-Sevens-Louis-Armstrong/dp/B00001ZWLP.. might be hard to find a mediafire of that so if you search a while and can't find one maybe i'll make one if you ask real nicely

You should try /mu/, they would have some legit recs. And most everyone there has at been through sophomore year of high school, so they've read Great Gatsby.
