I've been hearing the word "transhumanism" regularly for something like seven years now and am still not entirely convinced it actually means anything

humanism is the belief that humans are inherently good and rational and that supernatural/divine phenomena is largely irrelevant, and more often than not humanism implies egalitarianism as well
transhumanism is all of that, plus the belief that science and rationality will help us to improve humanity, possibly bringing us to a future of transhumans (i.e. immortal, perfectly rational, possibly cyborg, definitely not biologically human as we currently see it)

Accelerationism is an analysis of capitalism, to put it lightly

Transhumanism is mainly concerned with (as other posts itt have said) perfecting human life, and thereby going beyond the human as we recognize it today (perhaps), but on the level of ideas it is not opposed to humanism, but embraces it, and its enlightenment belief in reason, science, progress, etc. Posthumanism is about going both beyond the human and humanism (to this end they do not reject technoscience, but neither is it something hyped up in accordance with humanist teleologies).
