Im trying to remember a YA novel i read in 5th grade (2007/8), was ~600 pages, hardback with jacket with deep red color and the title was "skylark" or something along those lines
Had steampunk themes, took place in outer space & started at some outpost beyond the moon, bigass sentient spiders were main antagonists
Ive found one called the skylark of space but i dont think thats it, too old

Did anyone ever read Time Stops for No Mouse? One of the only animal-themed childrens' books I could tolerate. A good mystery. Just reading the wikipedia page, and apparently it was first self-published, and the first printing run was only a thousand copies. Maybe anybody can make it.

The sequels just got worse and worse though.
