isnt it more likely that fantasy and scifi media, comic books and scifi like avengers, neon genesis evangelion, and star wars, the modern day shakespeare and NOT some boring literature no one cares about that wins random prizes? arent the popular quantum/science fiction entertainment telling the actual relevent and important stories of our era?

Shakespeare is an invention of literary criticism anyway. Most of the so-called meaning and depth that you assign to his work has been manufactured by academics. So yeah, there is a genuine possibility that these works, that some might consider disposable products mass-produced by a rapacious industry might indeed become the seminal texts of our times.
Regardless of that, prizes have never truly been relevant. They tend to be corrupt institutions tha value connections and market/academic trends above true literary quality. Most Booker or Pullitzer or Whatever winners will be forgotten in the 50 years. Most Booker or Pullitzer or whatever winners have already been forgotten.

No. The Avengers films are not well written. Star Wars isn't either. The latter is an important film but neither will be looked back upon as the """"modern Shakespeare"""". They're nothing but something created by an artificial Hollywood hype train.
