The refutation is that the united states is fragmented more ideologically than ethnically. Suppose California secedes other liberal states follow and there's a demographic shift that separates the parts. There'd still be a select few Asians, blacks, and hispanics that would agree with the white nationalist republican. To deny them would be superficial and foolish. However, we'd have to ensure their kids don't become cretin SJW's that ruin the state. Most 1st generation Blacks and Mexicans are fine, it's their kids that get entitled and selfish. Also latent white nationalism, unfortunately, doesn't exist. People are more concerned with day to day life like getting a girlfriend and they take their race for granted. Let me tell you how I see race:
Nearly every gene that is not uniformly distributed across all humans varies with respect to the geographic ancestral origin of it's owner. Some genes may be prevalent with exact same incidence across all populations but this is absurdly unlikely. Others will have clines, along which you can map the gene's incidence. These are the paths the gene has spread either after it emerged in human evolution or simply randomly deposited itself over time. These clines do necessarily do not form a smooth gradient across the globe because they travel with respect to human travel distance, which is lengthened or shortened by geography. There are many interesting and beautiful traits that vary this way.
Every ethnicity or subpopulation has a unique combination of positions along these clines, or incidences of varying genes. For example, certain African tribes possess lactase producing genes into adulthood like many Europeans do (which they separately evolved the capacity to do) but are geographically distant from where blue eyes mutated, with a low incidence of this trait.
The point about geography I made is important, because it means traditional geographic bottlenecks or barriers can cause groups ethnicities in one area to be generalized in a desriptive way in contrast to other groups of ethnicities.
Race exists in the sense that human biodiversity exists. Sure there aren't white genes only whites have, but there are profiles of incidences of genes that describe most European populations. But perhaps I should say Caucasian since whiteness is more of a secularized Christendom type of thing in my estimation. Obessing over any chosen distinction being "arbitrary or subjective" or otherwise culturally informed is just an excuse to pretend we are all the same on the inside, a Christian belief in universally deposited grace.
