you'll have a 9 hour bus ride. roads are shit, it'll be shaky. the day'll be hot, the bus itself MAY be shit. what will you read?

I would rather try to take a nap, look out the window and ponder for 9 hours instead of wasting pages of content because I'm just skimming through them to do something in this Hell instead of comfortably focusing on what I read and evaluate it.

A book that's finished or even mostly read on bus will just end up being 'that one book I read but gained nothing from and should probably re-read soon'.

imagine
you'll be sitting in a garden in the countryside at your grandparents farm, reading for hours in the shade, the only sounds will be of birds chirping, dogs barking and roosters cacaracooing. Not sitting in public transportation, surrounded by NIGGERS and fat disgusting poor people like some fucking faggot. You won't have to adjust your position every 5 seconds to get comfy with that fatass next to you, no. Complete peace and quiet, away from the niggerdom of the city. Imagine OP. JUST imagine.

This. I never understand when I see people who are able to read half a paperback on a long coach journey. I get sick within a few lines. Can't even look at my phone screen for two long. Podcasts or audiobooks are the way to go.

I love long bus rides when I'm in a new country, except when it's way to packed for comfort. Headphones and an open window keeps me occupied. When I visited turkey I could have easily flown on the domestic airline inbetween cities but chose the buses so I can see the country. Also gives that part of the earth a sense of scale

i always wished i was apart of that scene where theres an empty bus with those fuzzy seats all facing the front, like a school bus but used as a public bus, and theres just about under a dozen people all spread sporadically, then the bus breaks down in the middle of some farmer territory road. a bit cliche i know

I always get boners on public transportation. Maybe it's related to anxiety? I don't take books outside my house, but if I was forced to then I'd bring Finnegans' Wake.

>> No.13053629

People always try to strike up a conversation unless you're sleeping or have headphones on. One time I was reading Lolita and a guy sat next to me, with his brother and teenage niece in the seats right behind us.

>Whatcha readin' bud? Lolita, huh? What's that about?
>I-it's a m-memoir haha

I wish people were more interesting, at least. Like that one guy who insisted on telling me stories about how he stole gas from army trucks in Yugoslavia. Instead I get old ladies asking me for help with their Canadian tax returns because they barely know basic English.
