Yeah, he's a ginger. Later on in the book he gets the nickname "Kvothe the Bloodless" which kind of perpetuates the stereotype that gingers don't have souls. I find it pretty funny.

Mine had a different cover so I couldn't be sure if it was the same (I can't find my copy, but I remembered the ginger).

Also Prophets by S. Andrew Swann doesn't even google gracefully. Nice space opera that left me wanting more.
