The Nobel prizes are handed out by a very different collection of institutions, anon. The Nobel peace prize isn't even handed out by the Swedes, but by a norwegian commitee.

The Nobel prize for literature not being able to single out future classics isn't that strange anyway, they often hand out the prize for capturing the zeitgeist and things like that, leading to some of the laureates' works not holding up.

The prize is more about politics than excellency. But, sometimes, they'll award good writers.

They're required to be books that are some mix of humanism/uplifting, so the content of their ideas is bound to be shit/wrong. Besides, the whole prize is tainted by the non-STEM prizes-peace prizes have been awarded to Kissinger, Arafat and Obama among others.
