I'm not going to pretend I'm an English Grad or anything but I'm a pretty capable reader compared to most. I bought the H. F. Cary translation of the Divine Comedy and I find parts incredibly difficult to understand. Are there any more accessible version /lit/ recommends? Please don't give me the pre-reading list I should do before I even attempt it.

Ciardi is the one everyone will recommend, he's fantastic - Mandelbaum is good too

These are probably the most accurate and annotated translations but I'm personally partial to Longfellow's

Hollander is pretty good. Obsessively annotated haha
