I read Robinson Crusoe. It is set in 17th century. In the beginning of book he talks about his life in city York and other cities. I couldn't imagine what places looked like back then. I know printing colorful illustrations makes it costlier. But still books should have illustrations in color with God view of places. So we get full immersion. Many books have illustrations but they are so shit that you have no idea what the places look like. E.g. the Lord of the rings illustrated by some famous guy. It literally has pictures of characters with close up. And no overview of places or inside the buildings.
