Is it true Jordan Peterson was actually a Nietzschean?

every person on this earth is to some degree a neitzschean. he is the single most influential person in the last few hundred years

A nietzschean would not be selling shitty self-help books to retarded millennials.

As Nietzschean as Hitler

Not even remotely. I unironically agree with that image with him alongside Ted K. and his quote on modern academics, that really does spell out Peterson well.

>>12819688
No, he's way less Nietzschean than Hitler.

He's Nietzschean in the sense that he wants you to LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE or BE YOURSELF or ACHIEVE SELF-ACTUALIZATION. N's task was to provide overanalyzers and overthinkers ammunition to think for themselves, e.g., he gives you a broad scope and enough contradictory truths on woman and Socrates. Peterson is a step down from this but in the same vein and is best used as an antidote to (WOW HERE WE GO) nihilism, complaining that it's the government (Kant is of this line of thought), blaming capitalism, blaming your parents (though N has some things to say about this), etc. Peterson should be used in tandem with Nietzsche and Hyde for anyone with potential to break out of SQUANDERING.

No. He wants people to embrace Enlightenment rationalism and engages in "we live in the best of times"isms that would put him at odds with Nietzsche.
Nietzsche viewed rationalism as a symptom of cultural exhaustion and as a self-imposed obstacle to overcoming.

First, what do we understand be nietzschean?

>> No.12819856

maybe but it wouldnt be in his best interest to disclose that anyway, its not exactly an ideology which you can build a society on or help the masses with

Where should I begin with Nietzsche

>> No.12820464

No. He's advocating adjusting yourself to fit the liberal consensus. The overman explodes and transcends norms and creates their own values. Hes creating last men not over men imo.

He understands the utility of Logos but rejects it insofar as he is an atheist. As a result, he will never progress beyond Nietzche no matter how he may critique him with his knowledge of Jung.

He is a patchwork of memes, nothing more...

BGE is what most will tell you, and it IS good if you have an okay foundation in philosophy. However, that could be said for almost all of his works. Human, All-Too Human is a VERY good start if you haven't read Nietzsche pre-recs and warm-ups like Plato, Aristotle, Seneca, Montaigne, (Kant too but save him for when you've really gotten into philosophy), and Schopenhauer. HATH is pretty practical, and is the least NAME-DROPPY of his works. Other than that, go through these names I've given you and then proceed chronologically through N. If you read Zarathustra first it will be like when you read a little bit of the Bible as a child. If you read it with a good groundwork towards the end then every single line will be as poetic scripture. Have fun, anon.

Bad advice. If you can't handle Kant without grounding, you have no business in philosophy. He spells out to whom he is responding as he writes. The only difficulty in him is the dryness and complexity, which a greater understanding of the history of philosophy will not obviate.
