Picked this book up a few weeks ago because I found out the game was based off of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it up until the end where it felt like the author started to pull his punches even with how gory and violent it got.
What was the last book you picked up out of the blue and end up enjoying it a lot more than expected?

I honestly just settled and got an ebook version for my phone. Normally I can't muster the attention to read a book on my phone, but it was worth the $10 instead of the $45 price for a paperback.
