it's not a statement, it's a sentiment, thus cannot be refuted

I believe that the argument is not that nothing is true as a universal, but rather that even by the logic of our own metanarratives (which are being used to justify our aformentioned statement), objective truth cannot be known.
In other words, even assuming the arbitrary preference of truth over falsehood, the statement "nothing is true", is correct (for lack of a better term). Although this seeming contradiction would appear to be a huge fault in postmodern thinking, writers of this tradition are well aware of it. That is where the characteristic cynicism, irony and sarcasm comes from: they are not taking themselves too seriously.

What do you mean by "nothing is true"?

not OP but clearly "everything is false"

however this statement may be, itself, false. we know one thing is true and self-evident.

The cogito isn't unrefutable lmao. "is" is probably unrefutable, but there's some madman that's annihilated even that

It absolutely is rock solid. Nobody can refute it without refuting language, and then you're in a boat with the sophists.

This is a legitemate question. Why is truth better than untruth? You can't just stick your fingers in your ear and pretend TSZ didn't happen

I will give you a legitimate answer. Because humanity needs truth. We depend on it for our transactions, for civilization, for oaths, for anything where one human trusts another's word. Without truth, one cannot act in good faith for long. Whereas untruth is quickly revealed for what it is. That is why truth is better than untruth. Witness the truth affecting your mind even at this moment.

but no, you're wrong. the truth you're talking about depends on language. interpretation. that requires humans.
