Re-reading all the books before I read the new stuff. Just started The Path of Daggers this week. I love the Kindle.

Reading The Gathering Storm right now, I'm really looking forward to seeing Moiraine get her ass saved by Mat and co.

One question though: is that Noal with Mat and Thom, or is it an Asha'man? I can't really remember how Noal was described but I also can't seem to tell if there are those little insignia things on that guy's neck.

Thats Noal. Theres something cool about him though. dont wanna ruin it

reading gathering storm atm. Rand just wrecked that palace with balefire. Looking forward to the next.
Was gonna try and hold out for the last to come out, but when towers came I gave in and started TGS.

I got the first book but only read 3 chapters, then a year later I saw the second book in my schools library, middle school btw, and after that i read the rest of the series. My library had all of them up to winters heart. awesome

Noal is Jain Farstrider.
I knew that by the 2nd book he was in.

Just finished it. Awesome read, minus Elayne who is just fuck boring. Skimmed those chapters. Killer job losing your city, cunt.

Everything else as boss, minus those dozen weird grammatical errors - what the fuck editors?

I couldn't figure out the whole prophecy at the end, though? Who was the First of Vermin?

I liked it but not as much as the previous. Also, the parts with Aviendha seeing the future of the Aiel I didn't like much at all, but I don't really like that in general in fantasy books.

My favorite "OH SNAP" moment was when Gawyn "slipped all three rings off, then tucked them into his pocket." Oh shit. You just know that's going somewhere awesome and tragic.

Second to that would probably have to be Rand walking into the White Tower like it ain't a big deal to tell them what the fuck is up.

Rand seems like the strongest possible choice - the bit about "lifts his hand to bring freedom to Him who will Destroy" sounds like Rand's plan to break the seals on the Dark One's prison and the One-Eyed Fool and Fallen Blacksmith sound like Mat and Perrin. Not sure who that makes the Broken Wolf, though.

Lan won't die, but he is gonna be important.

Also, I dont think Aveindha can change whats
going to happen to the future of the Aiels. Its
tragic, but whatevs. If rand defeats the Dark One,
then the world is just gonna eat each other up. I
think the Seanchan, after they take over
everything, will keep good peace for men. The
age is gonna change tremendously. Eventually
people who can channel will be hunted, the Aiel
destroyed, and guns will be introduced. (When
Brigitte thought that the world changed
completely after they saw Aludra's Dragons)

I might be mistaken, what are your thoughts?

Does anyone else FFFF when they see people bitching about there being three more books, that it's a shameless money grab, etc? Given the pace things are moving at and the amount of stuff left to resolve, three books almost seems a little too hasty. Maybe it just seems that way in comparison to the late middle of the series where it just dragged, though.
