Persevere. Re-read what you don't understand, and if after a long period of concentration you still don't understand it, make note of the page and the part and come back to it later; continue the book. If the book becomes an unreadable mess for you, go back a chapter, or two, and re-read. Go slowly, it's not a race, there's no goal other than the content of the book, and that is a journey. If you keep at it you will get better, we all get better, but only if we make a concentrated effort.
