It has no clear moral qualities. Like any set of experiences in life it brings in what you bring from it. Personally I do it to remember how diffrent the experience of life is across the world and how common the experince of being human is across cultures. It keeps me wanering where its all going and makes it little easier to tolerate all the diffrences between us. Its also expensive and in reality it often diverts from expectations. Try to go somwhere new at least twice a year. If you live in Europe plane tickets are cheap if you find the right time; I recommend skyscanner.

I sometimes feel like the supposed benefits of reading are merely delusions that arise from the need to cling onto an outdated medium of entertainment. Any semblance of real wisdom or practical usefulness is reserved for the serious autodidact or the rigorous college student who is as rare as a chaste woman in a big city. However I still choose to live the cope in the hope of it someday somehow paying off.
