yeah he is a dick but he is the best god damn DM we ever had. the stories he comes up with have twists within twists that you never see coming. he actually encourages all characters to pull their weight and makes encounters very thought out requiring us to actually think about what to do. and he can come up with things on the fly when unexpected things happen.
we tolerate his shit because of this.

Ruin of Kings was pretty ok, plot twist at the end was kind of a meme, seemed like he had written himself into a corner, but otherwise it was an enjoyable enough read. Rip Galen .

I'm curious as the how it continues. Book 2 drags but the first trilogy is great.

Era 2 -- the second set of books -- takes place ~300 years in the future and expands upon everything presented. The characters are a bit more in-depth and it even features the best Cosmere character, definitely a fun read. Right now, the first three are out and book 4, the final one in Era 2, won't be out for another year or three, sadly.

I believe BRANDON SANDERSON has a foot fetish. My reason for believing this is because I have a foot fetish so I pick up on things most humans do not. Take for instance the ever shitty House of Cards. Now, I do not like this show (House of Cards) but I did sit through 4 seasons of that crap hoping it would get better, and in that time I noticed numerous examples of blatant foot fan service. It is a good fetish to pander to because it occupies a gray area due to the lack of nudity, which is why its perfect for a guy like BRANDON SANDERSON. Reading Mistborn, I can't help but notice how many times we are reminded of Vin's cute bare footedness. She's barefoot on the roof, toes clutching the edge. She's barefoot on cobblestone, only to walk on marble. Vin walked to his bed BAREFOOT, making no sound. Of course the obvious explanation (for the mundane majority of men) is that Vin is a Mistborn -- a thief -- and strives to remain quiet. She has to make lots of sacrifices due to the magneto magic of BRANDON SANDERSON'S world, such as never wearing toe rings or anklets (unless they are wooden or something) but I do not believe this is the sole reason for the foot prose on display in these books. The author (BRANDON SANDERSON) has fueled my spirit with his depiction of Vin. I have a hard time getting through the pages when I keep seeing examples of her beautiful foot-based dexterity, yet its these very passages that push me further on. I see visions of Vin toying with Elend, giving her man a royal footjob that any king would crave with her expertly trained toes. I think about Vin embarrassed, painting her toe nails to match her dress while Zane watches from the window. I think about her wearing glass slippers to show off her new feminine toes at the balls! Oh what a sight to behold! I am not even on the third book so I can't begin to imagine how much footy goodness is still to come. Anyway, these are my reasons for suspecting BRANDON SANDERSON has a foot fetish.

Sex scenes get better overtime and made surprisingly much use of the harem compared to many, but I wouldn't necessarily call them well-written. I don't know why a skilled author would use it, though. It seems like a crutch or a way to attract the niche readers. It offers no deeper advantage than a pure non-litrpg story would in the telling of a story. Just finished Shadow of the Torturer and started on Claw of the Conservation Effort and I have to ask why the fuck they started it out in a new place after what seems like a long in-universe time between novels. Do they ever explain where the fuck they are? That is a bit much. Does the scope have to be that big? Could you have the history be more of a mystery for the reader to try and piece together and if they can't you can just write prequels after the fact?

depends on if you want to be successful kek. if you're going traditional publishing then you need to concentrate on selling the first good book before thinking about the rest of the series. if the first book bombs your publisher will be less interested in book 2. if book 2 is a standalone they will be more willing to give you another chance.

with self publishing you can upload as many books as you want but you still need to concentrate on the first few books' quality to attract readers.
