Hey, /lit/.
I'm reading Fahrenheit 451, and I'm trying to figure out how to approach this book. What do you think the author's message is to its audience?

They burn books the whole time. Obviously, the message is that literature is worthless and that reading is a waste of time.

Hey, /lit/.
Here's my homework question: What is Ray Bradbury's message to his audience?

Tell us what your impressions are after reading the book.

And by using the novel as his medium to say this, Bradbury is confessing his long-repressed fear that he is irrelevant and completely without talent. Fahrenheit 451 is the complete implosion and collapse of a tortured artist finally accepting his impermanence and ultimately, his failure.

Do your own homework you fucking 15 year old.

Also, you should have already read this fucking book, cunt.

>> No.1258566

Bradbury has contradicted himself on this topic multiple times. If this is homework, make something up.

You must be a kid. I teach this novel and my students get the theme within the first part of the book. Read it, Bradbury uses this theme across his writing all the time. He's a great writer but not a master of subtlety or anything.
