first you have substance, then substance is said to be contradictory because its static so you get movement, but movement is only in the mind so movement in itself is wrong, but movement in the spirit is wrong too since it is outside the spirit, but since the spirit has to be involved and it cant grasp infinity then movement is an abstract concept, but an abstract concept isnt mobile so then it follows that movement is the activity of the spirit when dealing with abstractions referring to the material world

but movement IS the world and the spirit is movement, the spirit is the world

Also, how can you just claim that "first you have substance".

hegel always starts with the thing in itself as a starting point to reach his conclusions, or "pure being"

he thinks this is and empty "static" concept

How can dealing with things as pure metaphysical objects hold any merit in a world where we only deal with and influence material objects? Sounds like just playing with empty air to me.

Have you read the Logic? It facilitates the comprehension of the Phenomenology tremendously. Or at least it did to me.

I can try, but I doubt I will get it. It feels like there is a wall between me and hegel. I just can't comprehend him.

If you want to take a look at a very short book called The rational kernel of the hegelian dialectic. The book itself is from a marxist perspective but it has an extremely good and succint presentation of Hegel's philosophy

Number one tip from when I stuided him in university, never start directly with Hegel when considering and of his books, always read an overview of it first. His terminology can be extremely difficult, and it is very easy to slip into a particular interpretation.
