I firmly believe in a democratic, socialist (No not the left-wing democrat thing fuck them) society. Freedom of expression and association is important, so are general elections, and so is democratic control of the economy.
I hope that most modern-day leninists will learn from the failures of 20th century socialism and learn that socialist democracy is not a promised garden of eden that comes after a handful of dictators, but rather that it should be built from the start, alongside a socialist economy.

Orwell's novel isnt much about the the economy policies the left has, but more of the social values and behaviour they have towards the political correctness. Their way of masking off as the "progressives" while at the same time have the same social philosophies as a facist regime, claming to be open minded dispite being overrunned by spooks, fixed ideas without much question.

Huxley talks about that in the BNW resivited book. The world, with the increasing tecnology and the expense to make more advanced products, will either fall into full capitalism or socialism, because small and medium companies wont afford the equiment and means to produce shit. The best way to avoid the death of democracy, is by controlling the earth's overpopulation problem, and promoting more "humane villas" like small community village behaviour inside the big cities. To prevent people from thinking of humans as social creatures like ants and understand they ar parcially social creatures the same way wolfs and elephants are.
Genetically manipulation is also something to be avoided since it gives companies and the goverment the ability to change the people and raise them according to their idealistic means and also surpass the regular people.
