Why does /lit/ hate formal logic so much? Why does /lit/ hate analytic philosophy even more? Do you not understand the historical context in which it came about?

if u majored in stem u would be required to do a discrete math class which is the basically the same thing but without being smug over understanding basic theory behind logic gates

You don’t have to be a scientist to realize that continental philosophy mostly amounts to ahistorical nonsense (Foucault) or nonsensical ramblings (Nietzsche Heidegger Sartre) the only respectable individuals in your tradition are Husserl and Marx to an extent.

I don't hate formal logic, it's an extremely productive tool, I hate overzealous rationalists/high modernists who think it's applicable in cases where it's clearly not or when people think it's foundational to epistemology or ontology.. I personally mostly just shitpost about the analytics because I've only read late Wittgenstein and like 50 pages of secondary Whitehead. Also analytics smell like pencil shavings. Also >>12450613

They are identical. All buzzwords are used as crutches, and for a word or phrase to be a reliable crutch, it must be popular and vague enough to have acquired general usage. Saying that someone is "using crutch words" is not a criticism. He didn't make a valid criticism either, obviously, but that's why you ask questions like "What about Nietzsche is nonsensical?" and reveal your opponent's ignorance through their lack of understanding of the subject matter. Really seems like you're thoughtlessly butthurt because someone said a mean thing about Daddy Martin or Uncle Freddy

The problem with Foucault isn't ahistoricity--it's his cryptonormativity. Also, Marx's writings are ahistoricity par excellence.

I don't care about picking the brain of some turing test flunkie, when I can tell someone knows what they're talking about I'll always ask them to elaborate on their polemics because I know they'll have thought long and hard about these topics even if I disagree.

I don't worship Nietzsche, but basically you read enough pleb posts and they became incredibly homogenous and indistinguishable.

That's what's taught in an advanced level undergraduate logic class that's basic propositional logic even an in intro class you learn some predicate logic. If you take an advanced undergraduate class you will do actual predicate logic and modal logic way above discrete math you brainlet CS cuck

I agree but you vastly overestimate the thought he's put into Nietzsche, basically anyone who thinks philosophy in their mother tongue are genuinely "incoherent" is probably a drooler. I know they're exaggerating a bit but if you're just that baffled and disassociated from your own self and your own life Nietzsche is moonspeak to you, don't post on this board.

There are plenty of people who disagree with Nietzsche, I'm one of them, but I've put in at least a little bit of work into it.

The ideal strategy is to trap them in a corner, then vent all your spleen at once. That way they can't respond without looking like a whiny bitch because they were argumentatively outmaneuvered; they have to sit there and take it.
