If it's a kids book, it's some furfags slice of life story.
If it's set in the past it's always some kind of Tolkien ripoff.
If it's set in the future it's always some end of the world scenario.
The villains are always motivated to be evil for the sake of it, or are some type of in universe Nazi.

most kids learn animal names etc. first so its natural to have books themed around that. plus animals are cute and kids like them. i don't see any problem with that. rest of what you said is true though
