Minutiae of form and style aren’t necessary for the non-scholarly reader. Simply translating so the speaker’s words convey the right tone is enough. Using words such as “Sir”, “Ma’am”, “Madam”, or other signifier of respect, politeness, humbleness is enough to convey the idea. Not every one is a scholarly reader. Get your head out of your ass. Form and style strengthen ideas but on aren’t the sole conveyor.

I'd also like to see you bring over the reduction and condensation that is possible in Chinese or Japanese writing - like those of Kawabata, Classical Chinese poets, and Mishima - in any satisfactory form in English. For example these 6 characters from the Daodejing:

道可道,非常道

Appears in English as

"The Dao that can be trodden is not the enduring and unchanging Dao."

And these are not minutiae, for they direct they very verve and power of the text itself. You should, in turn, listen to Japanese translations of Hart Crane and see how little they capture of his ornate rolling tongue. Not to mention Japanese translations of Shakespeare are done in prose rather than any poetic form.
