Well since fascism is fiercely anticlerical, banning/controlling the Church means that the State is involved in it. It's quite obvious.

This is a dumbed down version for American liberals to share to prove that Drumpfs Amerikkka which hasn't impacted their lives beyond making them sad the drone strike mulatto isn't fingering the button anymore is fascist. Actually may even date back to GWB who hilariously is way closer to Obongo than Drumpf.

In the way Eco actually describes and outlines fascism he himself hilariously almost glamourises it. He can't help himself but describe it as some elemental, eternal force that taps into some cthonic energy that needs to be eternally suppressed or else it will take power. Basically as if fascism was the natural state and we have to pro-actively prevent ourselves from drifting back towards it. Eco sucks and not for his politics. But his description of fascism is great because it is an honest account of how liberals are terrified of the hard right because they give it some mystical aura and power. Unlike how those same rightists view liberals which is as dumb faggots with 1930s jew caricatures puppeting their pear shaped soft bodies.

The title of the list is "early warning signs of fascism" and not "signs of fascism".
The keywords here are "warning" and "signs". Maybe you retards from /pol/ have forgotten how to read, but "signs" implies a usually vague recognition or presentiment of a future event, and this may or may not effect a change.
>Signs of a draught
>Signs of a suicide

Fascist governments in Latin America, for example, commonly had paramilitary factions which were committing crimes before coups ever took place. The list does not explicitly include such practices, which points to the fact the list is fairly wide in scope.

The reason Eco "glamourizes" fascism is so that liberals can see that it is genuinely attractive. It's not as though millions of people woke up one day and collectively decided to become cartoon villains.

>Fascist governments in Latin America, for example, commonly had paramilitary factions which were committing crimes before coups ever took place
You mean the CIA. Those tinpot dictatorships were authoritarian only insofar as they preserved the American aligned market system. Calling every government of even right of liberal fascist is straight from the Trot playbook. Fascism is a nebulous thing but it is incorrect to strip it from a narrow historical context of post-war Europe. Peron was at all Mussolini. And even Franco who commonly gets called a fascist was in his heart a monarchist forced to make do due to external circumstances - hence why the Falange faded and he put more emphasis on the church towards the end and then the final transition back to the kings. Calling everything fascist is a flippant dismissal and intentionally ignores the more complex issues at the heart of it all

This is true.

Part of Trump's success can be directly traced to mainstream media outlets like CNN (which yes, call me /pol/ if you want, genuinely are staffed entirely with left wing people) acting as if he was the deepest, darkest thing to emerge since Hitler. And since the media is - whether they like it or not - an authority figure and part of an entrenched cultural eatablishment, this made Trump an "anti-establishment" candidate despite his being a billionaire fully divorced from the lives of the majority of the population.

If they had instead discussed Trump just as he was without any agenda or baggage, it would have been obvious what a meme candidate he was and he would've been the 2016 equivalent of that republican candidate quoting the Pokemon movie in a speech. But instead they lent him a dark power he had none of by himself and turned him into a capital-t Thing. The whole thing is their fault.

I disagree fully. Fascism is a way of life that disintegrates the boundary between politics and private life. The capacity to be idependent and live life independent of politics is the antonym to fascism, in the same way the fascists seaks to control everything, the SJW seeks to politicize everything. They are fascists.

>implying you can form a stateless society with the innovations of post-Neolithic man that created the state to begin with
Post-Neolithic man is extremely hierarchical, on the fact that some people's ability, whether by circumstance or skill, will be better than others. People who need more than they provide at the end of the day will respect and rely upon those who provide more than they need. After enough generations have passed to where the fiery emboldening of communist realization have tempered into embers of status quo, all it would really take are enough people with in that 'provider' class more ambition than they do ideology to set the whole anarcho-system crashing down
