hufflepuff is the party house
ravenclaw is a bunch of pseuds, slytherin is unbridled classist ambition. And griffindor might be the worst, those boot licking institution loving holier than thou fucks.

But Hufflepuff? Hufflepuff fucks.

You know, those Harry Potter books, you know they’re for children, don’t you? They’re aimed at children. People do that to me, "Have you read the new Harry Potter book, it’s good, have you read it?" No, I haven’t read it, because I’m a forty-year-old man. "You should read it, it’s about a wizard in a school." I’m not reading it! I’m a grown man — I’m an adult! "Have you read Harry Potter and the...and the Tree of Nothing?" No, I haven’t. I haven’t read it, but I have read the complete works of the romantic poet and visionary William Blake. So fuck off

This SAT essay seems to hold a Marxist worldview about how change is promulgated through society, and if he had his way, there would be a pretty high bodycount over Trump's otherwise irrelevant presidency. I'll leave it to you whether that's a good thing.

When I was twelve I had my father read and explain his favorite novel SHO GUN by James Clavell to me. It’s one of my fondest childhood memories. I bought that book for him for his 70th birthday. He cried and then spent the next week reading it.

That's lovely that you remembered your father reading for you, and possibly the best gift that he's ever gotten. It's just a nice story.
I wish I'd had a boy scouts guidebook, I never was a scout myself either.

I read a lot of C.S.Lewis, Roald Dahl, and what I would consider pop history books(coffee table) when I was a child. I was also dedicated to studying the Atlas that one of my great-aunts gave me when I was 6 or 7. I read The Wind in the Willows when I was 8, that was my first proper book and it holds a place for me.
