Seething. Has Gass had one of his works adapted into one of the best films of all time? Don't think so. Cope more faggots.

They’re both glorified fanfiction writers so the argument is silly. But ultimately McCarthy is better than Gass.

Don’t use scare quotes because you’re too under-read to properly analyze a writer, faggot. He uses the themes, settings, character types, vocabulary and sometimes even scenes of more original writers. He’s been called on it many times and his excuse was “the unpleasant truth is that books are made from other books”. Which is true to an extent but he doesn’t bring any originality to it.

Superbly scabrous. Beautiful prose. I haven't read enough of his nonfiction, a fault I plan to remedy.

If it's your first time for Gaddis you will have fun. In all honest for both Gass and Gaddis I recommend getting their smaller books, even reading them twice sometimes, that way when you come to mammoth, marathon stretches of them, you are in the company of an old friend for the whole time rather than it being a fucking shit show of this new crazy style.
