How have bookstores changed over the last 100 years?

>> No.12340035

they haven’t changed much.

they still appeal to the same type of people that go to them today.

it’s just another outlet for the masses to carry on consuming into oblivion.

They’re now full of feminist, Marxist, neo-liberal, homosexual, degenerate shite. All manner of vile, disgusting content is pushed, not just to the adult population but even small children. Every second ‘self-help’ normie core book has an expletive on the front. There are no actual scholarly books on philosophy, history, or religion. The materialist, secularist climate has caused a veritable ton of the worst type of material to fill the shelves at these modern stores. The fact that these books exist, and people are actually buying them just proves the complete idiocy of the people living today. I went into a bookstore the other day and, to my disgust, the owner didn’t even know who Nietzsche, Wittgenstein or Tacitus were.

You are only going to find decent literature at second hand bookstores. And even then you’ll still be flooded with corrupt and evil rubbish.

You're a fucking retard Anon. Not only do plenty of bookstores have philosophy in stock, it's probably better than anything your brainlet self thinks is good. Go back to your fucking Church faggot.

Not him but it really depends on the bookstore. Where I live I have to go to used bookstores to find most of what I want, and I'm not a shining example of patriciandom or anything. My experience with non used bookstores has been pretty shit.

Bookstores are where communism starts, we should shut them all down.

>> No.12340617

There are more books now

>> No.12340638

Has anyone ever seen a bookstore with a good science/technical/mathematics section? It's always Dawkins, Kurzweil, and one or two second-hand maths textbooks from the 1920s that are falling to bits.
