This statement does not logically follow. There is no need for it to evolve. The coming of Christ and the establishment of his Ministry, marked a finality in the development of scripture, making anything else superfluous. Since then, there have been countless other texts, divinely inspired by 'the Way', volumes upon volumes (collected works of the Church Fathers are but one small fraction). Yet, to tabulate these hundreds of books, as scripture, would lead to paradoxes upon paradoxes, and if admitted, would devolve much like the Talmud, nit-picking away at the details until it has all splendor, mystery and meaning.

That isn't the Calvinist position. A person who is given faith would have their will regenerated and begin to obey God. Obedience is necessary for salvation, not as a cause but as a necessary effect.
