1) They almost never ran into random enemies. It was when they were in an enemies’ fortress (I.e. Saruman’s tower) or a former enemies’ fortress (mines of Moria) that they ran into trouble. Random wild enemies almost didn’t exist in the book except for the spider in HIS cave, or the spiders on the other side of the misty mountains in The hobbit.
2)the wizards like Gandalf or Saruman are like chess players represented by physical entities. They can do whatever they want to and let it just be over right then and there but there is a story to tell. For more about the wizards unbelievably exceptional powers, read the appendix for Lord of the Rings. They can literally take any shape they want to. So you’re right, but the kind of struggle that would involve ONLY Gandalf, Saruman, Sauron, etc. would be very unexciting.
3. They used many different methods of transportation so I have no clue what she is talking about. Most of those are technological achievements only really accessible in more warlike periods, or Dwarven technology. She is a fool

Book is The Sight, a story about a pack of wolves being harassed by an unholy sorceress wolfess, who’s trying to kill their kids to prevent a prophecy. Beautifully written with a surprisingly detailed lore and world building.

Enter this autistic bitch trying to be a wolfologist and who complains about how the wolves in the story don’t behave like real wolves or whatever, and gives the book one star despite openly stating she never finished it.

I sometimes love this guy’s autism. Good example of someone, definitely a scholar, who is artistically well-read to a point /lit/ can’t compete with but is just so utterly blinded by his left ideology to dismiss whole books, authors, and ideas outright with a phrase or bitter rhetoric. Just see his reviews on Nietzsche if you really want to seethe

Also a huge part of what makes a good writer is understanding your audience. The fact that literally every person who has ever read this review probably cringed out of their mind indicates that this guy does not know how to write for his audience.

To elaborate on this: he is a reader, not a writer.
He has read lots of books, so he has a larger than average vocabulary and is familiar with the writing style used in a lot of books (especially older ones). He is just mimicking the style and regurgitating the words without really understanding how to use those tools in a way that makes for an enjoyable read.
