the diaries of Tolstoy

I also remember a thing from Mishima's The Temple of The Golden Pavillion, where a young student discovers that the master enjoys whores and sake, and he calls his attention. The master answears something like: "So you know I soil my hands with girls and alcohol. So what? The Universe will end eventually and it would not make any difference if I sit alone in my hut or if I go to brothels: it's all the same, in the end there will be nothing".

The young monk then gets annoyed with the serenity and self-assurance of the master, who dosen't give a damn about what he thinks of him or about what the others might think. He compares it to a corpse that simply refuses to rot and remains fresh and beautiful even after death.

That is a very interesting question but first my dear anon, let us examine what is the essence of pious. Are men pious because they are loved by the gods are they loved by the gods because they are pious? Or is it because of something else? What makes pious pious my dear anon. Please hurry up and tell me. I need to know before my inevitable suicide.

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4channel are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have linked to the Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA) when posting, but your version has nothing at all to do with the truth! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using the Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA). Posting with a corrupt version when it isn't necessary is dangerous. You should always try to post from the Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV), unless your salvation means absolutely nothing to you.

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bait to help you get used to the anonymous Christ-pilled culture!

Yes, e.g. Phaedrus:
>Driven by hunger, a fox tried to reach some grapes hanging high on the vine but was unable to, although he leaped with all his strength. As he went away, the fox remarked 'Oh, you aren't even ripe yet! I don't need any sour grapes.' People who speak disparagingly of things that they cannot attain would do well to apply this story to themselves.

>> No.12308550

what if the grapes really weren't ripe? See the lack of understanding of duality or statistics among the ancients is extremely problematic to applying this stupid shit to modern psychological quandries. What if you can be lusty and pious, what if you can be pious without being pious explicitly? What if your frustration with lack of fulfillment of lustful urges is itself a form of piety? What if incels are the most pious? you're a nigger and so was Socrates
