Tolkien had the fortitude to make a parallel world rooted in a parallel consciousness based on parallel language.
A parallel world meticulously tuned to display the ideals of western myth.

There is almost nothing Tolkien failed to portray.
The only reason to make anything like Lord of the Rings again would be to write a story similar to what would have happened if Sauron won the war, which he did in real life, so to speak.
