Should I get this book for my little sister? She is kind of lost and unmotivated in life and isn't beyond reading self-help stuff. My only concern is whether this is only written for males.

It's not only for men, but the way he writes will appeal more to men.I do think there is value to be gained for anyone feeling lost. (and pretty much any young person) I like the book, but Peterson rambles on sometimes and the wrap upsare honestly less sensical in the book than in his lectures. The real life stories he has in the books are very worthwhile.

Assuming she is a teenager she will be very difficult to talk to. Teenagers are very self-absorbed and will likely care more about what a book says than what their family says.

I listen to a few podcasts hosted by women and women seem to love Jordan peterson, I think it's a daddy thing. So yeah go for it.

Get her an actual piece of literature not some pseud fucking trash. I recommend something like the Myth of Sisyphus or something or the fairytales of Grimm. They are always full of good morals.

He's not wrong, though. It's written for those without positive influence. A person above the age of five should not have to be told to tidy up.

motivating one's self amounts to do something which, going by common sense, is contradiction in terms: thinking thoughts which aren't the thoughts you think.

The book says "wake up bright and early and pump yourself up for a good jog and a nice breakfast!". But that is simply not what happens. These thoughts do not occur to me in the mornings. I may try to give myself physical reminders, but they wear off in a few of days, they blend into the normality of my daily life, and my habits return to normal as well.

And so it seems that whatever I'm thinking, that's what I think. If I thought what I don't think, then that would be what I thought. Just what the hell am "I" if not my thoughts anyways?? Can one change one's thoughts? how?

I recommend starting with pic related.

try pic related.
