Gone are the times when great historical figures wrote letters that would be left for future generations to read.

Even if you become a great author, anon, you will never have a love letter chain to be posted on Wikipedia in 2100 for future academics to dissect (and not just because you'll never have a gf).

Will text convos replace this? Snapchat stories?

Tweets will be analyzed in future history books.

What's stopping you from writing letters? The popularity of the medium?

You do realize that literature is dead too, right?

I sent letters to my girlfriend, she does it too. They aren't "3deep5me" but they are better than nothing.

I didn't say textbooks, I said books, which can mean physical books or e-books.

When I was a teen I exchanged snail mail with a girl that lived on the other side of the country. She and her friend had a big crush on me, and would send me incense sticks and drawings, and the ink was scented.
We talked on MSN Messenger all the time and the snail mail was a surprise, we never mentioned it. Receiving letters is sweet.

Why'd you stop talking to her?

We were friends for many many years and we even met a few times where we kissed and almost had sex. I didn't want to have a LDR because they always end badly and I hoped that by not dating and having sex with her I would have kept the friendship intact. Also I felt weird about taking her virginity. Eventually she found a boyfriend and we sorta stopped being in touch.
She didn't have the prettiest face but she had a fantastic lithe body with a delicious flat chest, she was a gymnast. One night she showed up with a little green dress that showed her legs and I was diamonds.
