What are the best intro to philosophy that gives a basic understanding of the field.

Not very deep books, only introductory ones that maybe later I can deep into one of the major philosophers.

All the "History of.." or "Anthology of ..." or "Guide to ..." types of books are pure trash and will at best give you the most surface-level, typically misconstrued and misinterpreted version of philosophy. Either get real and read the primary texts, or fuck off.

also ik Russel's History of Western Philosophy is hated on but I enjoyed reading it. You gotta read the primary sources in conjunction w/ the secondary for sure
