Because it’s an art, not a science. Any random cuck can say any bullshit they want so long as they can use some legerdemain in their rhetoric to give it plausibility.

Well, I'm currently reading ancient history so I have a better context for understanding greek culture and ultimately Plato/Aristotle, so I guess I'm studying philosophy indirectly.

Most people think they have it all figured out, or are at least certain enough of their beliefs that the uncertainty no longer bothers them. This is of course a dangerous, unmerited assurance 99.99% of the time. Also see:
>>12106089
>>12105774
The instant gratification of "doing fun things" wins over the hearts of the masses most every time compared to doing something beneficial but difficult/unenjoyable.
But you won't go on pursuing philosophy forever: at some point you must decide what you'll live by and then do so. From there you can (unironically) follow your passions and thoroughly enjoy doing so. You can enjoy the company of others as friends and maybe as more if you're not a sperg. Etc.
Children just live for the sake of living, but every man must decide what is true, and then live accordingly. No one can live as an agnostic (that includes those who pursue philosophy forever), for your every action reflects what you ultimately believe is true.

Because it won’t increase your quality of life or give you peace of mind. Those who are content with working their 9-5 jobs, getting home and watching TV until the next morning are probably happier than someone who reads Celine, Kant or Hegel and concerns himself with a so called “meaning” or mode of being that doesn’t exist. Much easier to live life as a normie if your brain allows for it. Philosophy is a disease for those who can’t into normiedom.
