This is the direct result of sexual distractions. Whether through your hand or through your girlfriend, you ruined a huge amount of motivation and work effort for ephemeral pleasure instead of the clarity of mind and will that abstinence would have otherwise granted. Instead of writing books, you wasted your life force.

Your seminal vesicles swell from regular sexual activity, which inclines you to even more of it. Abstinence actually decreases sexual urges, which allows you to focus on mattes of the intellect, not the dick.

I literally wrote a story about a guy who gets teleporting powers the same week the jumper movie premiered, never heard about the book before then.

There's nothing original under the sun, even if you're not "taking ideas" from anywhere.

Also describe the story you were going to write.

Bonus points for justifying why you hadn’t already started/finished it before now

Some back story before I tell you what I am going to write. Several months ago I quit my job to move into the city and date my gf. Ever since it’s been a fucking nightmare trying to stay afloat with my finances. I work full time at a shitty office job and part time on the weekends at some faggot dive bar. I’m basically putting myself through all this so I can date my gf. Sometimes I ask myself if it’s even worth it. That said, the book I plan to write will be a collection of short stories based on the park near my apartment. Through my stories I will report the city life, the city people, and expound on personal things and feelings by telling stories of make believe people and whatnot. It’s something I’m constantly thinking about, but I don’t have time to put on paper, as I’m always fucking working. The little free time I have I spend reading literature. It can be really hard to write creatively when you’re exhausted, mentally and physically.

>for fun, I’ve uploded the text my gf sent me

It crushed me.

I'm going to say this roughly, but you need to get your shit together. I understand you're in a rough place but you're indulging your insecurity. This book isn't even remotely the same as your book. Your book is fiction. This is a non-fiction history based on interviews and journalism. This is actually an amazing source for your book and your girlfriend is trying to help you. Fiction doesn't excel just because of its informational content. Zola isn't a great writer because he just did a lot of research.

I'm imagining you're writing something more like Winesburg Ohio but about the park. Who gives a fuck about a bunch of interviews and dry ass historical narrative about Winesburg compared to that?

If anything you can literally take this book and other sources and integrate them into your own work. Dramatic presentation is always more effective.

>> No.12098949

yeah OP, your idea seems more dubliners while his is a literal history. Similar, but only because the theme is the same area of a city.

don't punish your gf for being cool and trying to help. I don't know the circumstances but you really seem to love her to do this, so why not look for a better job in the area to ease the financial burden. once that issue is solved, I'm sure your relationship will be stronger.

t. man whose relationship with the love of his life was killed by money worries.
