Can someone explain to me why you guys don't like fiction?

Preferring non fiction is a hallmark of autism and is often used to diagnose adults who went untreated during childhood with Aspergers. Aspergers patients can mask most typical autistic behavior but they still dislike fiction.

I have not read fiction since I was a child.

I tried reading Pynchon because this board loves him, but I just spent the time thinking "I could be reading non-fiction that actually describes and deals with the world instead of fiction"

I know it can serve as a vehicle to tell an allegory about something real (if the author is any good which they aren't) but again, that brings us to question, why go through middleman.

I used to be this guy until I understood that philosophy is just distilled literature ripped out of its natural habitat. There is a reason that values were transmitted through stories and parables, not logical arguments.

So, what is it you read exactly?
Biographies and encyclopedia/documentaries?

To show, not tell.
Most things can only be taught and learned by being shown. You can only learn so much by being told it.

This is pretty obvious, you have a lot of learning ahead of you if you haven't grasped it.

Never said it's the only way to show, only why you can't generally go straight to the point and state it and need a "middleman".

Who doesn't like fiction?
That's an idiotic thing to say.
