Good evening gentlemen it is time again for a meeting of our most distinguished book club.

Discussion books and suggest them please.

Also please note that instead of having a hipister book we will instead be continuing Gravitys Rainbow.

So what did you all think of Snow Crash?
And what of The Mysterious Stranger?
How far did you get in Gravitys Rainbow?
Is it 2deep4u?

>> No.1193868

Just throwing this out there but I think the reason no-one's posting itt is because we all know that you don't even know what the difference between a text and a book is

Gravity's Rainbow.....
First I closed the book after reading a single sentence that was almost half of a page.
I tried again, realized it took me 30 minutes to read 10 pages, and I said, "Fuck this, 2deep4me".
I'll give it a try later...

as for suggestions:
Genre:
The King of Elfland's Daughter by Lord Dunsany;
Song of Kali by Dan Simmons (I believe this is horror);
The Once and Future King by TH White
Children of the Streets by Harlan Ellison (supposed to be about child gangs, about 180 pages)
Any Sherlock Holmes novel

Illiterate:
Grail by Harlan Ellison
The Phoenix on the Sword by Robert E Howard

Oh yeah, what happened to the IRC channel idea?

I've made it to the end of the first section in Gravity's Rainbow.
I really like the sweet anecdotes like the dodo, the toilet, and especially scenes like the candy. However, there is so much constantly going over my head that I had to take a break and read something short and easy before I go back and try to finish it.

whats the matter...

2deep for deep and edgy?

>> No.1194227

I also tried my had at GR, but yeah ... Way 2deep. Now I'm reading some good ol Mishima.

I had read Snow Crash before though. I loved it. More for the creative technology and character's inhabitation of said tech than for actual storyline.
Almost felt like I was reading a really well written history, but of the future, at times. Just wish I could go livethere.
