Name ONE (1) good writer from South Korea. I can think of some good writers from shitty countries like Canada and Mexico (Munro and Paz, both are laureates as well) I can't even think of ONE fucking okish writer from South Korea. Does capitalism really suck out culture from a country?

There are alot of poems and songs compiled before 1900s. There were some good works from the Japan Occupation and the korean war when I was sent to teach overseas. Mostly focus on "don't be a dick" mentality. Pretty common theme considering they went through colonization and a war right afterwards.

You gotta realize that most of these have not been translated yet and the Japanese burned alot of their literature as well.

Koreans still don't have records of their swordfighting style and code since the Japanese destroyed all records of it.
