As a director he's one of the most influential figures in the history of theatre. Modern practice is unthinkable without Brecht's innovations.
As a writer, he's largely shit. Mother Courage is just about bearable I guess

I'm writing a paper on him for an acting class atm. His theories are interesting but don't actually make much sense unless you're acting in one of his plays. That said, Mother Courage has some good chuckles to it, but is better seen than read (like all plays).
