Follows a family through finland as it gains independence, fights a civil war, and fights against the russians in ww2. The focus isnt those conflicts but rather ordinary people living through it. Though dont mistake it for a historically accurate telling, its quite left leaning, but not annoyingly so.
No idea how good the translation is, sry.
